Wonder no longer! AdFreak has released this handy infographic to provide us with guidelines for “The Ideal Length of Everything Online.” And, they’ve done the number crunching to prove it. Although released with the caveat that the length of a post or video can be driven by type of content and audience, these are still good guidelines to consider.

Here are some of the stats:
Facebook: Posts with 40 characters receive 86% more engagement than posts with a higher character count.

Email subjects: Subject lines containing 28-39 characters get an open rate of 12.2% and click rate of 4% on average.

LinkedIn posts: If you’re marketing to businesses, write a 16-25 word post. If you’re marketing to consumers, though, a 21-25 word post would get the most shares.

YouTube: The most popular videos are rather short. The average length of the top 50 YouTube videos was 2 minutes and 54 seconds.

Most importantly, your content should never be longer than it takes to convey the message. For more, check out the full below or click here for full-size image.
